This is a excellent film. Too Bad that this disc is in a Non USA format (PAL). If you seen the Movies JUICE,STRAPPED,MONEY- POWER- RESPECT and NEW JERSEY DRIVE, then you got the story. This film is the British version..

America take note....
...Ben Drew is a genius artist. The records...Strickland Banks, Ill Manors, the Ill Manors film (movie),his acting in other's films....keep an eye on this guy, he really is a talent.

All 5 blu-rays did not play
I purchased this blu-ray set (5 discs) from an American company through U.S. Amazon. It arrived on December 12, 2012 and I returned it, the next day, on December 13.

I tested all 5 blu-rays on my Panasonic blu-ray player. There was audio, but no video. So, I got sound, but no picture. My Panasonic blu-ray player works on my other blu-rays, DVDs, and CDs.

I did some research and here is some useful information for U.S consumers.

Samsung players and most LG players will play this BBC product (coded Region Free).
Sony and Panasonic will not play this BBC product.
Many Toshiba, Sharp, Pioneer, and Denon players will not play this BBC product.

Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat [Blu-ray]

You and Your Dreamcoat, Ahead of Your Time!
The film approach to this musical was a smart move-- the "we'll tape a performance" approach is kinda cheesy. The sets were great, especially the desert scene, and the costumes were imaginative. The songs were very nice; they go from a catchy jingle-type advertisement for "Jacob and Sons" to a Western theme ("One More Angel in Heaven"), to a somewhat 1920's approach in "Potiphar," to a 1960's Austin Powers-ish "Go Go Joseph", to the bluesy Elvis-themed "Song of the King", and to the Jamaican "Benjamin Calypso."

Donny Osmond shines as Joseph: he can really sing! Richard Attenborough was very good as Jacob, who sang a few lines and was actually pretty good at it! Mrs. Potiphar (Joan Collins) was hilarious, as was Robert Torti as Pharaoh "The King." (He was my dad's favorite character; he's watched the Pharaoh's song about a million times.) Amazing--- and not just in the title...
Ever since I saw this show on stage in LA about ten years ago, I've been dying to have a copy I could watch over and over and over... Well, that day has come. I saw the video version on a recent trip to London-- and am sold on it's value. The cast is amazing, lead by Donny Osmond's unflappable vocal ability. Unlike the cats video, no songs have been cut out, and no songs have been shortened, with the possible exception of the Joseph Megamix, which has been revamped to serve as an end credit theme. The sets have been built as immersive environments, not a filmed version of the stage show. Also of note-- a preview before the show of the new production of Jesus Christ Superstar set to come to video this Easter!

A Video Worth the Wait
After seeing the teaser ad for this production on the Cats video, I was looking forward to the chance to see it. I'd known about Joseph for years, but had never had the chance to see it on stage. I'm pleased to report that the video was worth the wait.

The performers are fantastic. I'd not heard anything of Donny Osmond since his teen idol days, and was pleased to find that he has an even better voice than I'd remembered. Maria Friedman (Narrator) is also a joy to see and hear. In fact, all of the music throughout is so infectious that I've found myself humming Joseph songs during lulls at work - and at home - and in the car, well, you get the picture.

The sets are colorful and imaginative (my daughter especially enjoys the large Egyptian head with the moving eyes used during the Pharoh's song (I did have to explain the heavy references to Elvis Presley, but then she's only 5 -- give her time). And the costumers deserve a round of applause for the title...

Snowman [Blu-ray]

Memorable and Out of the Ordinary
Not your usual children's video, THE SNOWMAN will transport you to a magical fantasy world with nothing but moving music and gentle images of this little boy and his wonderful snowy friend. No dialog is needed here, you simply sit back and let yourself relax and enjoy the experience. First time I showed this film to my classroom of four year olds they were fixated to the screen and I was amazed at how much emotion the story evoked in me. I bought the film for my own nieces and they watch it over and over, not just at holiday time. It has now become a classic in our own children's video library. A must have for the entire family.

The Snowman
The first time I was able to view this film was with my son's preschool group. The class was silent and all the children sat in awe of the magnificent journey of James and the Snowman. Once the film was finished, they begged the teacher to play it again. I have 7 children ranging in age 14 months to 13 years, and they all love it as well. The touching music and beautiful animation make you feel like you are right there with them on their journey. It brought tears to my eyes when he wakes in the morning to find his snowman gone, but the gift from his trip to visit Santa is still in his pocket, giving him the sense that it wasn't a dream after all.This film has something for everyone.Brilliant!

The music makes it
I bought this video, indeed searched for it after I heard the snowman's song. I take it out to listen to it often. I wish they would release a sound track or something. The song is haunting and lyrical. It feels like flying through a winter sky should feel. Enjoy it for yourself.

Mrs Brown's Boys: Complete Collection [Blu-ray]

you will laugh till you pee
A friend had turned me on to Mrs browns boys and oh my lord I have not laughed that hard in ages.
Not for kids but the adults will love it sometimes rude and sometimes crude but a laugh a min I wish we could get this series in the united states
To use our English cousins vernacular this show is brilliant.

Laughed so hard I almost peed...
I love love love this series!!! Some incredibly funny situations but I'm not going to spoil this for you.....you have to see them yourself!

Mrs brown's boys
This is e funniest show I have seen in a very long time. Can't wait till more are available. Keep it coming.
